Casual - Albany

Seeking applicants with a variety of availability across mutiple days

The Organisation

Baptistcare is a community-benefit organisation guided by a Christian mission. We work with individuals, families and communities in Aged Care, Disability and Mental Health services. For over 40 years, Baptistcare has enriched and transformed lives in metropolitan and regional WA, with 20 service locations and over 1600 staff.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team and other stakeholders within the facility
  • Being responsible for the provision of person-centred, individual care to residents that is in line with the Vision, Mission and Values of Baptistcare, keeping clients’ needs at the centre of our service delivery
  • Promoting the physical and emotional wellbeing of residents, by partnering with residents to be involved in the meaningful activities of their life (such as eating, personal hygiene tasks, moving around, household tasks and leisure activities
  • Coordinating with other staff to achieve these outcomes and liaise directly with nursing staff regarding any specific health concerns

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate the following:

  • Commitment to work within and promote the values of Baptistcare as reflected in our Christian Values and Mission
  • Possession of, or be working towards, Certificate III in Individual Support (previously known as Certificate III in Aged Care) or Home and Community Care (or equivalent)
  • Works well and contributes effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to communicate well and build relationships with people from many walks of life including those from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds
  • Ability and willingness to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to complete busy workload and respond to changing priorities; and 
  • Previous experience in working in a health/aged care environment, 
  • First Aid Certificate (current), along with 
  • Ability to use a range of IT applications at a basic to intermediate level will be highly regarded
